Going with the Flow & Embracing Change
Lately I have been witnessing much upheaval in the world, people losing jobs, changes in relationships, change in living conditions, just generally having to adapt to unplanned changes. This morning I was thinking about how most of us deal with change. It’s very normal to want things to remain the same but life, as we know it, never stays the same. If the change is a welcome change, we embrace it but if the change is one that creates discomfort, we tend to resist it and want things to go back to “normal”. And yet, within these uncomfortable times lie our biggest growth and opportunity.
Life cannot stay the same or be stagnant, there is constant movement, and we have no control over that. The only thing we can control is how we respond to the change, whether we allow the change to control us or whether we go with the flow and embrace the change as a passage of life that only serves to make us better.
I read a passage today that resonates with me:
"When you simply pay attention and observe the flow, it becomes easier to navigate your experiences and see what lies ahead, at least get a sense of what is to come by the ever changing geography that unfolds as you cruise along”
